GCASA’s approach to treating addiction is based on many years of research and study of what works in addiction recovery. Our treatment philosophy is based on a medical model and the knowledge that addiction is an illness that affects the mind, body and spirit of the addicted person and those close to them. While we believe that abstinence is the best way to manage recovery from addiction, we also recognize that many individuals can improve life areas and still suffer occasional relapses. Counselors are trained to help teens, men and women manage their relapses in a timely and constructive manner, with the focus on minimizing the impact on each individual and their family.
The treatment team at each of our licensed clinics includes the medical director, registered nurses and trained counselors. Because treatment and recovery needs to be individualized to afford the greatest chance of success, we offer specialty programs such as Opiate Treatment, Men’s Program, Women’s Group, Medication-Assisted Treatment, Gambling, Co-Occuring Group and more. Many of GCASA’s counselors have specialized addictions training; CASAC-T or CASAC credential (PDF).
General Treatment Services
Our treatment services are broad and encompassing. We are licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) to operate our clinics and a satellite office. Our main clinics are at 249 East Ave. in Albion and at 430 E. Main St. in Batavia, with a satellite clinic located at 5 E. Main St. in LeRoy.
We strive to offer a “Call Today, Be Seen Today” scheduling system at our Batavia clinic that allows patients to call in the morning at 9 a.m. and schedule an appointment for that same day. We also offer walk-in intake appointments in Albion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There may be times when there is a high volume of patients and other accommodations will be made. The Comprehensive Adult Assessment is used during the first appointment and takes approximately 90 minutes. If a diagnosis is made upon consultation with the clinical team, treatment services are designed specifically to meet each individual patient’s needs.
