Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (GCASA) is a rapidly expanding nonprofit organization located in Western NY that has been offering help to those impacted by substance use disorder through prevention, treatment, and recovery services for over 40 years. Methadone Treatment Counselor

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Full time. The Counselor is responsible for assessing a patient’s social history, substance abuse history and recovery needs, and preparing an individual treatment plan to guide and direct a person’s recovery from abuse. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be eligible for or hold current state credentials for substance abuse counseling – CASAC, as well as background in mental health. Substance Abuse Counseling: 3 years paid experience, Bachelors preferred. Knowledge/experience in working Medication Assisted Treatment (methadone and suboxone) preferred.  This is a salaried nonexempt position. EOE

Part time to full time as the program expands.  The Driver will provide safe and adequate transportation for GCASA patients to ensure transportation does not present a barrier to accessing care.  This is a grant funded position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a clean, valid NYS driver’s license.  The selected candidate should have solid driving skills, a friendly yet professional demeanor, and excellent knowledge of the area.  EOE

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Full time.  Flexible schedule necessary as work hours would include weekends, evenings, overnight and/or holidays, based on program needs.  Candidate must have ability to work with 17 recovering adults in a residential program.  Job entails making continuous rounds of the building at various times, being accountable for all residents at all times during shift, overseeing random toxicology testing, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimally High School Diploma, Associates degree preferred.  Experience working in a human service or addictions program preferred.  Must be addiction free including nicotine.  This is an hourly nonexempt position. EOE

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
9 FTE’s available.  Assists in the development and monitoring of the recovery systems of Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc. They will demonstrate relevant, competent knowledge and skills in the area of providing one-on-one recovery services and support to individuals.  In addition, they will provide linkage with other service providers in the community. This is a grant funded position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum HS diploma or certified high school equivalency. Must have or be willing to obtain Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) – Provisional certification within the first six months of employment.  Preferred knowledge of community-based recovery services, substance use disorder counseling, and family systems.  Must have valid NYS license and method of transportation.  Scheduled work hours will be flexible to provide maximum coverage as needed and may vary accordingly to include weekdays, weekends, and/or evenings. Must be addiction free, including tobacco.  Pre-employment background/post offer drug screening required for external candidates.  This is an hourly nonexempt position. EOE

BILINGUAL CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELOR

QUALIFICATIONS and BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION :
Part-time 15 hours per week. BA/BS degree in Social Work, Psychology or closely related human service field and qualification as a QHP. Must be Spanish speaking and familiar with Hispanic cultures . At least three years’ experience in an addictions treatment setting and must demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a mult – cultural staff to provide culturally appropriate services to a widely diverse client population. Must possess a valid NY State driver’s license and method of transportation. Must be addiction-free including tobacco. Pre-Employment background/post offer drug screening required. Travel required within service area.
