Licensed Practical Nurse - Detox

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Physician Assistant
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full time nights, and part-time and full-time days. Weekends. LPN is responsible for related services for each patient and appropriate linkage to internal/external services. The LPN will participate in the Interdisciplinary Team meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues, under the direction of the Physician Assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York. Must have a current CPR/First Aid certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine the appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies. Experience in substance abuse/mental health environment preferred, but will consider recent nursing school graduate. Shift differential available for overnights.

Registered Nurse - Detox

SUPERVISION: The Registered Nurse will report to the Nurse Manager
DUTIES:
Per diem and part-time position. The nurse is responsible for all nursing related services for each patient and for linking patients to the physicians and to outside medical resources. He/She participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues and is available for emergency medical situations. The nurse provides all services under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The nurse is responsible to provide medical and history screens, providing routine nursing care and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. He/She is also a member of the Treatment Team and will provide input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan.

Must be at least a community college graduate with Registered Nursing Degree. A minimum of 1-year experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization or outpatient setting required. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Per diem to part time/20 hours per week. Individual will perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle. Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards and sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of the presence of unauthorized persons or fire. Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles, etc. Monitor entrances and exits, observe authorized persons entering and departing the property to protect against theft. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities. Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State. Must possess State-required training or other qualifications for licensing. Minimum 3 years work experience in similar setting or equivalent experience in security or law enforcement. Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors, etc. Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public. Effective oral and written communication skills, active listening skills. Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively. Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, attention to detail.
