Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (GCASA) is a rapidly expanding nonprofit organization located in Western NY that has been offering help to those impacted by substance use disorder through prevention, treatment, and recovery services for over 40 years. Reports to the Assistant Chief Fiscal Officer. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator assists the Assistant CFO with design, implementation, monitoring and evaluating the accounts payable function of the agency. May be required to work additional hours.

JOB SUMMARY
Full time.  Cook/Kitchen Manager will provide nutritional needs of our patients/consumers.  In this role, Cook/Kitchen Manager will prepare and serve food that follows specific, predetermined standards and nutritional or dietary guidelines. This is essential to the health of our patients/consumers.  We are looking for someone with experience in both food preparation and nutrition. SUPERVISION:  Cook/Kitchen Manager would be supervised by the program director or his/her designee.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare food that adheres to the nutritional needs of our patients/consumers, following portion control standards as necessary.  Serve food in residential dining area and deliver food trays to rooms in other programs as needed.  Assist with cleaning tasks.  Prepare weekly menu with House Manager and residential consumers for each week.  Focus on cooking from scratch at least two times weekly and work with residents on meal prep, cooking and shopping skills. Facilitate an inservice group for the residents one time weekly.  Oversee general cleanliness of kitchen and residence by assigning thorough cleaning by residents and completion of chores throughout the day.  Ensure bed bug/dryer procedure is complete for any incoming residents/consumers.  Ensure all beds contain mattress covers and rotate mattresses, etc. Budget food costs. Order from vendors biweekly to monthly.  Practice one stop shopping, getting all supplies for the week in one trip and purchase in bulk. Obtain competitive food bids for major supplies and keep a price comparison notebook.  Inventory and rotate stock weekly, using the food and supplies purchased first and checking for expired and/or spoiling food daily.  Conduct monthly Inventory to include label & take pictures and add to inventory list of all used and new items. Send copy to finance department 3 times a month. Coordinate day time activities for residents.  Assist with Family Night snack preparation.  Assist with the Supportive Living transfers.  May be required to provide transports.  May be required to perform breathalyzers and supervise toxis randomly or per counselor request. QUALIFICATIONS

Under the supervision of Program Coordinator/Director, the Nurse assists in the development and monitoring of the quality systems of GCASA’s OTP program.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

  • Dispense appropriate methadone doses, in accordance with clinic procedures.
  • Record all doses dispensed and account for all methadone used during a Dispensary shift.
  • Accurately record patient details in the electronic medical records system.
  • Attend such meetings as directed by the Director of Services and report to the Medical Director as required.
  • Monitor charts for dose discrepancies and take corrective action when needed.
  • Participate in Team meetings and provide such data as needed by the Team for inclusion of medical treatment plan.
  • Monitor other health related matters for all patients and assigned units, including making outside referrals when appropriate.​
  • Keep current with trainings and any other program regulatory updates/duties/policy and procedures as necessary.

Nurses at GCASA must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing and have a current New York State Nurses License. Prefer RN to have had coursework in the behavioral sciences, previous experience with substance use disorder treatment is preferred.

  1. The Recovery Center Staff will be responsible for supporting daily operations at the Recovery Center.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  2. Conducting Recovery Center opening and closing procedures.
  3. Greeting recoverees and Recovery Center visitors in a polite and welcoming manner and providing them with information, direction, or assistance with sign-in and locating programs, staff, or facilities as needed. This includes assigning security badges as needed and collecting those badges when individuals leave.
  4. Operating or overseeing/providing staff support for activities/events.
  5. Conducting rounds per the rounds schedule.
  6. Operating the Recovery Center Shuttle and otherwise transporting participants when directed to do so.
  7. Providing coach-like recovery support to participants.
  8. Assisting with regular cleaning and building care tasks.
  9. Contributing to a secure and comfortable atmosphere at all times.
  10. Courteously collecting demographic, insurance, other intake information and program participation information from recoverees, securing consents, and correctly entering data and signed consents into agency electronic systems.
  11. Assisting with verifying insurance and securing copay or other fee for service as required.
  12. Performing all duties efficiently, maintaining a neat and orderly work area.

Supervisory Relationships
The case manager will report to and receive supervision from the Director of Project Innovation and Expansion.

Duties

  • Collaborate with participants to develop and monitor progress on individualized Service Plans that are designed based on an assessment of needs and include goals and actions to be taken to achieve goals for both the qualifying individual and family members.
  • Coordinate with all health care providers (e.g. SUD, MH, physical health) to ensure timely communication that results in high-quality care. This includes working cooperatively with all treatment providers when participants choose to engage in treatment services.
  • Link participants with community, treatment, and recovery resources and services as appropriate and desired, including but not limited to safety net programs.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of case management or similar experience preferred.
  • High school diploma/equivalent required; bachelor’s preferred. QHP may be preferred.

Applicants must meet the following criteria: strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with experience supporting people with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or people reentering the community from jail or prison; high school diploma or equivalent; and some college or relevant data training. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Data collection and reporting experience strongly preferred.

Supervisory Relationships
This position is under the direct supervision of Access Matters Grant and Data Coordinator. The position will collaborate frequently with the Reentry Coordinator. This position does not supervise any other positions.

Skills and Knowledge Required
The selected individual must demonstrate strong skills in data collection, analysis/evaluation, and reporting as well as strong skills in the following areas: verbal and written communication, collaboration, ability to work independently, organization and project management, leadership, knowledge of community resources, and a willingness and ability to effectively work with people with SUD who are returning to the community from jail or prison.

Amount of Travel and Other Special Conditions or Requirements
Local travel within the immediate tri-county region will be required. Travel outside of the tri-county region may be required occasionally.
