Attacking the opioid epidemic

BATAVIA — An additional treatment for opioid addictions is a step away from coming to the city.

Executive Director John Bennett said the Genesee-Orleans Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse is aiming to open an addition to its East Main Street facility in April. It will serve as a clinic for local residents receiving liquid methadone as a daily treatment for addictions to heroin and painkillers.
